Water Testing for FHA/USDA/VA Loans & More
We provide water testing for FHA/USDA/VA loans and for the average homeowner as well. Water is life, so be sure you know what you are drinking.
What contaminants may be found in drinking water?
Water, in of itself, is not naturally pure. Water is either is a controlled environment, or is filtered to be pure. As such, there can be many different contaminants.
While there are thousands of different pollutants that can be found in water, there are typically 5 items that would be tested for on most homes (although some only test for the first two).
Those five items are e-coli, total coliform, nitrites, nitrates, and lead. All of these can have adverse health effects on us and our family.
How Do These Contaminants Affect Me?
All of these contaminants can affect you differently. e-coli has killed some people, and has put thousands more into the hospital.
Total coliform is a measurement of basically fecal born pathogens, and can cause stomach and other health issues for years to come – and the same is true with nitrites and nitrates (which hurt children and pregnant women more than anyone else).
Lead is also a neurotoxin that can hurt developing brains (i.e. children) and cause neurological problems for the rest of a person;s life.
What Can Be Done About a Water Issue?
First of all – test your water. If you are buying a home, be sure to have us professionally test your water. That way if there is an issue, you can have it fixed before you move in.
It is important to remember that water issues can be fixed. Once you know what the issue is, a professional water treatment company can add the needed filters and treatment equipment.
Having your home’s water professionally tested and knowing what you are putting into your body is critical to keeping you and your family healthy and happy.
